Meeting with Government Advisors

We have had some correspondence with theWater Minister.

Follow the link to see a copy of the letter we sent and the reply we received.

We have now organised a meeting with government water advisors for Thurs 29th January

We think that the government has taken some really positive steps with the Target 155 and by not increasing restrictions on garden watering further.

We are keen to have increased flexibility in the timing of watering food gardens - so that we can keep our vegie patches alive and growing during the hot weather. And increased measures for the installation of tanks.  community gardens also need special consideration.

We will let you know the outcome of these talks

Target 155

Save Water. Target 155.

"The Victorian Government is asking everyone in Melbourne to use no more than 155 litres of water per day.

Target 155 aims to achieve similar household water consumption levels to Stage 4 Water Restrictions, but gives you more control over how you achieve your savings."

This is good news - although we still don't have any special consideration for the need for frequent watering for food gardens
